Friends Fellowship is supported solely through monthly contributions from interested friends and the workers who volunteer. We also receive a monthly commitment from Calvary Temple of Indianapolis, and the ministry conducts special fund-raisers such as auctions, banquets, and garage sales throughout the year.
Outside of prison walls, Friends Fellowship is involved in counseling ex-offenders, providing clothing and food for the children and families of inmates, and providing toys for inmates' children at Christmas. The ministry also helps released inmates to get on their feet financially.
Director, Rev. Roe Farris, and her assistant, Rev. Ruth Winstead, are paid modest salaries and are reimbursed for gasoline to travel back and forth to the prisons. We also pay a modest monthly rent to maintain an office and equipment in Mrs. Farris' home.
Ministry activities are overseen by a Board of Directors (listed on Leadership Page).
